David: Wiggin is a UK based law firm. We are specialists and we focus on certain key sectors, mainly media, IP and technology. We have a number of high profile, blue-chip clients who require us to be very efficient and have a really secure environment where we can protect their data and give them efficient, productive advice. They also look to us to innovate and use all of the up-to-date tools to deliver high-quality legal services.
Lucia: There were certain things that we couldn’t do because of limitations within our IT. It wasn’t optimising what we could do with our business.
Sunil: On that basis, we went out to tender to look at what the options were. We were very impressed with what Nasstar presented to us. We spoke about what we were after, what we were looking to achieve. Nasstar had already developed their own frameworks.
Moving into an Azure environment. It had all the key principles that we were after; the Secure by Design. Being part of a supply chain, any onboarding with the client requires us to complete a number of security questionnaires and certain due diligence. Being in Azure has enabled us to meet those requirements much more quickly and easily than we would have previously, and the security that that environment provides is much easier than when we were in a data centre. The impact of moving to an evergreen environment, we’ve got that resilience now. Key reasons that we wanted to move into this environment was the ability to scale and build very quickly.
Helen: As a business, you should not have to think about your infrastructure, should you? It should be business continuity, business as usual. We have a managed service partner that can take care of all of that.
Sunil: We have a technical account manager at Nasstar who is constantly looking at the environment, looking at improvements, cost efficiencies. I think that’s a really key role. Azure, Windows, everything is now evergreen. And we need to make sure that we’ve always got eyes on that environment because things are changing so quickly in that, and you’ve got to stay on top of it.
Helen: It’s given us the building blocks now to look at what’s next. Are we looking at AI? Are we looking at data? Are we looking at more cost efficiencies in the business, and what types of solutions can we build on top of the infrastructure to make that a success?
Sunil: The transformation into Azure gave us a really good base to be able to now embrace AI.
Lucia: We’ve enjoyed a 20% saving on our cost, which is great. We intend to reinvest that into AI technologies. There is an expectation in our market that we are using these technologies. So this was absolutely key for us.
Sunil: It is very much a proactive partnership with Nasstar. Whenever we need something or we’ve got any questions, we just reach out.
David: We are ready and willing to embrace and invest in more products. Now we feel we’ve got the right environment in which to do that.
