To achieve this goal, Nasstar conducted a project to migrate Correla's legacy infrastructure from private cloud to Azure public cloud giving it the flexibility and agility to grow and operate with greater efficiency as the company dynamically builds its new business model.

Nasstar's engagement with the original Xoserve company dates back 5+ years as its provider of choice for Desktop Managed Services, supporting employee experience across the organisation.

This separation into two companies is the next step in Correla's formation as an independent entity within the technology and data services sector, supporting innovation in the gas market and beyond. Simultaneously, Xoserve restructured into a specialised contract management and assurance company.

Before the separation project undertaken by Nasstar, both entities shared the same IT infrastructure and M365 tenant. Nasstar's migration project successfully enabled each business to function autonomously, operating with distinct business processes.

This has allowed Correla to operate independently enabling the organisation to focus on specific goals without shared infrastructure limitations.

The migration of SIEM services to the newly created tenant included additional layers of managed, maintained, and audited security hardening by Nasstar to further enhance the security.

To ensure all requirements were clearly understood and data protection procedures were in place, Nasstar engaged in a thorough consultation process before the project began. This allowed Nasstar to gain a deep understanding of the organisation’s goals while providing clear expectations for the project’s scope and delivery.

The separation project covered critical areas across both Xoserve and Correla’s IT environments. Nasstar organised its work into seven distinct technology "towers":

AD & Core: Azure-hosted solution with resilience across UK South and UK West for DR.

Network: Connectivity from the new Azure tenant to existing on-premise networks.

File Data: IaaS file server migration with one-way forest trust for controlled data access.

Email, OneDrive & SharePoint: Migration from existing 365 tenant to a new tenant.

Telephony: Transition from Skype for Business to Teams Direct Routing.

End User Compute (EUC): Laptop migration to the new domain.

EUC Security: SIEM migration to the new tenant.

Nasstar successfully migrated:

- 5.4TB of email data (~28 million messages from 1,099 users)

- 14.3TB of OneDrive data from 3.4 million files

- 7.26TB of SharePoint data

- 314,500 Teams chat messages

This complex delivery required extensive engineering expertise across cloud, connectivity, security, and EUC capabilities that Nasstar has cultivated through years of experience and multiple acquisitions.

Nasstar now provides Correla with a fully managed desktop service and 24/7 remote support via multi-channel assistance. Additionally, the service includes managed and audited security hardening for end-user compute and collaboration tools, ensuring continued protection and performance across the organisation’s IT estate.
