Women in Tech

Rebooting the tech ratio

Yep, we’re not thrilled about it either, and we’re on a mission to change it.

At Nasstar, we're not here to tick boxes, we're here to shake things up. Building diverse teams and creating an inclusive, empowering space for women in tech isn’t just a goal; it’s baked into how we operate.

We’ve set our sights on 40% women in our workforce by 2030, with a solid step at 30% by 2025. Ambitious? Absolutely. Achievable? You bet.

Since launching in 2022, our Women in Tech Employee Resource Group (ERG) has been making serious moves - championing early careers, promoting wellbeing, creating support around perimenopause and menopause, and encouraging real allyship across the board.

Our work so far

At Nasstar, we're not just talking about gender diversity, we're building it into the foundation of how we hire, support, and celebrate women across our business.

Here are just some of the ways we’re making meaningful change.

Fair and balanced hiring

We’re committed to gender diversity in our recruitment campaigns, taking deliberate steps to ensure every hiring process supports a balanced and inclusive approach.

Closing the gap

We’re generating our Gender Pay Gap Report early, alongside a clear, proactive plan to close it.

Spotlighting early careers

Our Early Careers Programme is designed to attract and grow young female talent, giving the next generation of women in tech a strong start.

Policies that prioritise people

We launched a new Health and Wellbeing Policy with a special focus on menopause support, because real inclusion considers every stage of life.

Enhanced maternity pay

Family shouldn’t mean financial penalty, so we’ve increased our maternity pay to 14 weeks full pay, with plans to raise this to 21 weeks.

Supportive returns

We’re making return-to-work smoother than ever with tailored inductions and regular check-ins, so coming back after maternity leave feels positive and supported.

Flexible for a reason

Work-life balance isn’t a perk, it’s a priority. We offer flexible hours and hybrid working so our people can thrive in and out of work.

Opening doors

We actively seek partnerships with female-owned consultancies and platforms like Mumsnet, Workingmums, and Tech Returners to broaden opportunities and bring more women into tech.

Creating space to be heard

We hosted our first Women in Tech Summit, sparking conversations on allyship and giving women across Nasstar a platform to share their stories and inspire others.

Recognition that matters

We were Highly Commended in the 'Diversity Employer of the Year' category at the Women in Tech Excellence Awards 2024.

Empowering women and allies at all levels of the business has allowed us to drive meaningful change internally, and that in turn is supporting positive changes in our industry. I'm proud to be involved in supporting the work that this group does.
