At Nasstar, we're not about square pegs in round holes. This means we don’t force every location into the same connectivity package.

We’ll check what’s available, understand how each site operates, and help you choose the right service. That could mean full-fibre performance with FTTP, an all-IP-ready SoGEA connection, or a practical MPF Broadband service where newer infrastructure hasn’t arrived yet.

From ordering and installation to ongoing support, we’ll take care of the complexity so you can focus on staying connected. Your access services can be delivered standalone or as part of a managed or co-managed network, with resilience, SD-WAN, and managed firewall options added where required.

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

Full fibre. Full speed ahead. 

FTTP, delivers fibre directly from the exchange to your business premises, without relying on copper for the final part of the connection. It provides a fast, reliable foundation for cloud applications, video calls, IP voice, and other bandwidth-heavy services.

Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SoGEA)

Modern broadband without the traditional phone line.

SoGEA delivers broadband without requiring a separate PSTN telephone service. Fibre runs to the local street cabinet, with copper completing the connection to your premises. It can provide a straightforward route to all-IP connectivity where FTTP is not yet available, while allowing an IP voice service to be added separately where required.

Metallic Path Facility (MPF) Broadband

A practical connection while full fibre catches up.

Full fibre is expanding quickly, but it's not available at every business location yet. For suitable sites, MPF Broadband can provide a practical interim service using existing copper infrastructure. It's best suited to locations with lighter connectivity requirements or those waiting for faster technology to become available.

FTTP might be the preferred option, but service availability can vary significantly between locations. We’ll check what is available at each address and explain the differences clearly, helping you choose the most appropriate service without having to become a connectivity expert yourself.

We look beyond headline speeds and product names. The number of users, applications, cloud services, business criticality, and future plans all help determine the right connection. We’ll shape our recommendations around how each site actually operates.

Some sites can tolerate short interruptions. Others can’t. We’ll help you identify critical locations and consider whether they need additional resilience, such as a secondary fixed or mobile connection, rather than applying unnecessary cost across your entire estate.

Where connectivity forms part of a wider network, we can bring access services together with SD-WAN, managed next-generation firewalls, monitoring, and incident management. You can choose full operational ownership from Nasstar or a co-managed approach that gives your team agreed visibility and control.

Traditional analogue phone services are being retired as the UK moves towards an all-IP network. We’ll help you identify affected services and select connectivity that can support modern IP voice and cloud applications, making the transition clearer and easier to manage. The UK PSTN is currently due to be retired on 31 January 2027.

Connectivity is rarely tested when everything is working. Its real value becomes clear during an installation, office move, or unexpected fault. We’ll support you throughout the journey, helping to coordinate orders, installations, and service issues instead of leaving you to chase multiple suppliers.

Getting ready for the big switch-off

The retirement of the UK’s analogue phone network is about more than replacing traditional desk phones.

Alarms, payment terminals, entry systems, lift lines, and other equipment may still depend on legacy services. Your underlying connectivity may also need to be reviewed to make sure it can support IP voice and other digital replacements.

We’ll help you understand what could be affected, assess which services are available at each site, and build a practical route towards modern connectivity.

Nasstar provides several business broadband options, including FTTP, SoGEA, and MPF Broadband.
