The Brief

With essential business systems which were becoming legacy, Tilly Bailey & Irvine wanted to modernise its IT environment in preparation for a move to a new Case Management System (CMS). Having been recommended Nasstar for their expertise in working with firms in the legal sector and understanding the strict compliance issues that companies in its industry face, following a full and detailed consultation Tilly Bailey and Irvine instructed the managed services specialist with enabling the first step in its digital transformation.

The Benefits

Tilly Bailey & Irvine now have a modern IT environment that can scale in line with the company’s growth without the need for additional hardware or costly infrastructure refreshes every 3-5 years. Staff are now also not bound to their desks when they need to work; they can access anything they need securely, no matter their location. Best of all, the solution meets the stringent compliance rules that legal firms must adhere to.

Daniel Bramley, IT Manager at Tilly Bailey & Irvine, said: “Nasstar demonstrated that they have a wealth of experience in delivering solutions that meet the strict regulations within our sector. Moving to the Cloud has meant that we now have a secure platform for our CMS solution, streamlining our processes. Colleagues can also easily access client data from anywhere and be certain that it’s both protected and compliant, allowing them to be more agile and to dedicate more time to fulfilling our clients’ needs.”

The Solution

Nasstar migrated Tilly Bailey & Irvine’s systems to the Nasstar Cloud platform – a highly-secure Private Cloud entity that is underpinned by best-of-breed technologies such from industry leaders such as Microsoft, Dell EMC, VMware, HP and Cisco. This service offers the firm cost savings on its legacy, on-premise infrastructure and negates the need for expensive refreshes. An important factor for Tilly Bailey & Irvine is that  Nasstar's Cloud platform offers 99.99% uptime with data centres owned and managed in the UK, and data stored in line with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Solicitors Regulation Authority guidelines and ISO 27001 compliance.

Additionally,  Nasstar deployed 170 feature-rich Hosted Desktops so that Tilly Bailey & Irvine staff could have secure, instant access to files, applications and email from any location and from a variety of devices. This would allow users to be able to access confidential client and company data on their own hardware without worrying about security or compliance issues as data is stored on Nasstar's secured platform, not locally on users’ devices. This enables staff to work from home, a different office or a customer site whilst safely accessing the information they need, and permissions can be customised per employee to ensure that only the relevant personnel can access certain files. The solution also provides Tilly Bailey & Irvine with fully-redundant data storage and routine backups, as well as Microsoft Exchange Anti-virus and Anti-spam.
