Q: What is going End of Life, and will it affect my other products?

Bonded Broadband is going EOL on 31 st December 2025 . Your other Nasstar services (provided they do not rely on the Bonded Broadband service for connectivity) are unaffected by this announcement and will continue as contracted unless otherwise advised.

Please contact your Nasstar Account Manager to discuss the options available. To make the transition to a new Nasstar product or service a success, we advise leaving sufficient time for planning and migration activities.

Q: When will this be reflected on my bill?

Rental charges will be billed up to 31 st December 2025. If you have opted for an alternative product, your bill will be updated in line with the replacement product date.

Q: Do I need to cancel this service with Nasstar?

No, the Bonded Broadband service will cease after the 31 st December 2025. If you still require connectivity, you need to ensure you have contacted us to migrate to an alternative product ahead of the EOL date. We would recommend placing replacement orders by the end of November 2025. If you wish to cancel the service earlier than 31 st December 2025, please send your request to nasstar.cease@nasstar.com .

What does “End of Life” mean?

Accepted Answer

This product is being retired from the Nasstar Product Portfolio. Products may reach End of Life for various reasons, including market demands, changes driven by technological innovation and development, or products replaced by functionally richer technology.

How will this affect me?

Accepted Answer

The End of Life (EOL) date is the date that the product will no longer exist, and all customers must have been transferred to an alternative product if they have chosen to. The Bonded Broadband product will no longer work from the EOL date.

Your Nasstar account manager can advise on the exact services and sites affected by this end of life.

Why have you decided to retire the product?

Bonded Broadband is an almost 20-year-old service, originally designed to improve speeds on the first generation of broadband. It utilised dedicated hardware to aggregate the bandwidth of multiple DSL lines for a higher speed than was typical at the time.

As faster broadband services such as SOGEA (Single Order Generic Ethernet Access) and FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) have become more widely available, most customers have now moved to more modern services. With fewer customers and the underlying technology approaching the end of support, it is no longer viable to continue the service.

With the Openreach PSTN Switch Off scheduled for January 2027, the old broadband lines this service operates on are also being retired soon.

What are my options?

We would like to give you the option to migrate to one of our recommended alternative products, but whatever you decide, we are committed to supporting your transition. Your Nasstar Account Manager will discuss your options with you.

Modern broadband services will offer a much faster speed than is possible using Bonded Broadband. SOGEA services offer up to 80Mbps, and FTTP can offer speeds up to 1Gbps. Your account manager can advise on the options available at your site.
We appreciate that a lot of these services may have been in place for many years and may no longer be required. Where that is the case, these services can be ceased immediately.
